NC Roofing replaced our aging tiles. Overall I am very happy with the roof. I can't think of any faults. Nicky and his team are very friendly. If you want your roof done I would definitely recommend NC Roofing.

Get help nowWhat we fit
The roofing we install & repair
Slate, tile, flat systems, and the roofline that carries the water off them. What is right depends on the building, the pitch and what sits underneath — here is what we work in.
Natural Slate
The traditional Glasgow roof, and still the best looking. Laid properly and fixed with the right nails, a natural slate roof will outlast everybody who worked on it.
What you get
- New and reclaimed slate matched to the existing roof
- Copper or aluminium nails that won't corrode
- Lead valleys, soakers and stack flashings
- Sarking board replaced where it has perished
Listed building or conservation area? We'll match the existing slate size, colour and coursing so the finished roof reads as original.
Concrete & Clay Tile
The workhorse covering on post-war Glasgow housing. Quick to lay, sensibly priced, and made in profiles and colours that suit almost any street in the city.
What you get
- Interlocking, plain and pantile profiles
- Breathable membrane and treated battens throughout
- Dry-fix ridge, hip and verge fitted as standard
- Colour matched to the neighbouring roofs
We mechanically fix ridges with a dry-fix system rather than bedding them in mortar — ventilated, and it won't work loose in the first hard winter.
Flat Roofing
Two systems, picked to suit the roof rather than our convenience. GRP goes on as a seamless single skin; torch-on felt suits larger areas and more awkward detailing.
What you get
- Seamless GRP fibreglass — no joints to fail
- Three-layer torch-on felt build-ups
- New deck and firrings set to a proper fall
- Insulated warm-deck construction
Flat roofs fail at the edges long before the middle gives up. Upstands, drips and outlets are where we spend the time.
Fascias, Soffits & Guttering
The roofline is what carries water off the roof and away from the walls. Get it wrong and you get damp — blocked or broken guttering sits behind a surprising share of the problems we're called out to.
What you get
- Full uPVC fascia, soffit and gutter replacement
- Cast iron repaired, replaced or repainted
- Downpipes, hoppers and gully connections
- Dry verge, eaves guards and bird protection
Rotten fascia gets replaced, not capped over. Boarding new plastic across soft timber just seals the problem in where you can't see it.

From first call to cleared site
Four steps, no surprises in between. This is exactly how every job runs, whether it's one slate or a full re-roof.
- 01
Tell us what's happening
A call or a message with a rough idea of the problem. If water is coming in right now, say so — we'll move you up the list.
- 02
We inspect it properly
We get up on the roof or use a pole camera, find the actual cause, and photograph what we find so you can see it for yourself.
- 03
A written, fixed quote
Materials, method and price in writing. No pressure, no deposit taken to hold a date, and no changes to the figure afterwards.
- 04
The work — then a clear site
We turn up when we said, keep you posted, and take the scaffold, the skip and the debris away with us when it's finished.
No deposit taken to hold a date, and the price on the quote is the price on the invoice.

Why NC Roofing
Roofers who explain what they found
There's no shortage of roofers in Glasgow, and no easy way to tell the good ones from the rest until the scaffold comes down. So here's how we work — judge us on it.
-
We find the cause, not the symptom
Water tracks along battens before it shows on your ceiling. We work out where it's actually getting in — and photograph it so you can see it too.
-
Fixed written prices
A proper breakdown before anything starts, scaffolding included. The figure you agree is the figure you pay.
-
Materials that suit the building
Natural slate on a tenement, dry-fix ridge on a semi, GRP on a small extension. Specified for the roof, not for our convenience.
-
We turn up, and we clear up
On the day we said, with the scaffold and skip gone as soon as the job's signed off. It shouldn't be remarkable, but it is.
What customers say
Recommended by the people we worked for
Every review below is from a real NC Roofing customer. We haven't tidied them up.
From start to finish I was delighted with the service provided. Quick quote, work done on time by great lads. We're delighted with our new roof. Not a penny paid until completion, very reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend.
Got in touch with Nicky as I needed to replace my roof. He came out exactly when he said he would and the job was completed on schedule, to a high standard, at a fair price. The scaffolding and skip were cleared as soon as the job was done.
Reliable and honest company. Nicky was great to deal with. They were quick to respond to my contact to get a roof leak fixed.
Recently, we had our whole roof updated. NC Roofing's service was professional, friendly and reliable. They completed the job in a timely manner and to a very high standard. We are delighted with the service and outcome. Can't recommend enough!

Roofers covering the whole of Glasgow
We're based just along the Clyde in Clydebank, which puts most of Glasgow inside half an hour. That matters when water is coming through a ceiling.
Not on the list?
We cover a good deal more than we can fit here. If you're within about 30 minutes of the city, give us a call and ask.

Good to know
Questions we get asked a lot
If yours isn't here, phone and ask — we'd rather answer it now than have you wondering.
How quickly can you come out to look at my roof in Glasgow?
For most enquiries we can arrange a site visit within 24–48 hours. If you have water actively coming in, or storm damage that's left something loose above a pavement or path, tell us when you call and we'll prioritise you the same day where we possibly can.
My tenement roof is common property. Can you still help?
Yes — a large part of our Glasgow work is on shared roofs. We can quote for a full close or a share of the common repair, provide the written breakdown that owners and factors need to agree the spend, and work directly with your property factor once it's approved.
Do you charge for quotes and inspections?
No. Inspections and written quotes are free and carry no obligation. We'd rather look at ten roofs and work on five than talk anyone into work they don't need.
How do I know whether I need a repair or a full re-roof?
It comes down to the age of the covering, how widespread the damage is, and the condition of what's underneath — the sarking, felt and battens. If a repair will genuinely hold, we'll do the repair. If you'd be calling us back every winter, we'll say so and show you the photographs that explain why.
Will I need scaffolding, and is it included?
Most re-roofs and a lot of chimney work need scaffolding for safety and to comply with working at height regulations. Where it's needed, it's priced into the quote you receive — including erection, hire period and removal. Nothing gets added afterwards.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. All of our work carries a workmanship guarantee, and material guarantees are passed on to you where the manufacturer offers them. We'll tell you exactly what's covered and for how long before you agree to anything.
